Marina di Camerota, with its inland namesake village is the 'pearl of Cilento', as some people say. We think that they are probably right, when we look at the natural scenery along the coast, with its caves, the various beaches, that are close to the tourist facilities, camp sites etc.

Like many Cilento villages, Camerota also can boast of the Blue Flag, the sought after award by many seaside resorts. Anyone who wishes to bathe in comfort can dive in the Calanca shallow waters, a fine sandy beach that is ideal for children and is also the one that is closest to the unchanged historical centre. From the water edge, one can easily walk to the fresh water spring Cave, and also admire the sea bottom below the promontory on top of which stands the Saracen watch Tower. Near the port there is another fine sandy beach called Marina delle Barche.

Lentiscelle beach is only 1 km away from the village; There are only pebbles and stones and is for those who want to show how well they can swim. Some little beaches can only be accessed by boat, like the splendid 'Baia degli Infreschi.' The 'Grotta della Cala (Cala Cave) is among the most suggestive ones. There is an impressive entrance above the underlying beach, wherefrom one can enjoy a wide view of the sea and the village. Inside this Cave finds have been found that date back the Neolithic times: bits of human bones, animals, shells make us think that this deep cave used to be a human dwelling. Nearby there is a gorge that was used as a place for burials.
